This Positive Action 1st Grade: Enjoying God's Gifts teacher's manual contains all of the teaching material, as well as Bible stories, activities, and student manual facsimiles with answers overlaid. Plenty of teacher materials help orient parents on how the course should be taught, with schedules for a 3, 4, and 5-day pace included for maximum flexibility.

Each easy-to-use weekly lesson has the scripture memory verse, hymn name, and chorus name at the top for the optional scripture memory and music element. These are followed by definitions for unfamiliar or new vocabulary terms, "Target Truths" objectives, the Bible story with discussion questions (designed to be read aloud), and the teaching strategy. A Character Trait activity or activities (parents can pick and choose which to do) along an application story with reflection question follows; these are designed for basic retention and reinforcement of the lesson. A reproduction of the student manual worksheets with an answer key (overlaid answers) is also provided.

The weekly optional scripture memory program is part of a three-year cycle that encourages children to memorize crucial passages at least twice in their elementary years; a memorization report sheet form is included. An optional schedule for introducing new hymns and choruses to children is also provided; lyrics are in the back of the teacher's manual.

In Grade 1 Enjoying God's Gifts, students will explore the many gifts of love that Jesus has given to us, including aspects of creation, families, friends, possessions, Jesus Christ, and God's care. Units for 1st grade focus on the story of creation, the stories of Noah, Abraham, Jacob and Joseph; the stories of Jesus, the story of David, the story of Elijah, and more.
